Training for the MacLehose in 2009

I learned from my November trip last year about this MacLehose extreme hike, I told myself that I had wanted to do it this year, but I'm definitely not in shape to do so (just look at my flab from the pic). However, I have found a group of hikers that are training to do it for next year!!!!
They actually started a week ago, but I was able to join their second hike this past weekend, and it turned out to be a wonderful workout!

The MacLehose hike/run is an amazing event!!!
Date: 13-15 November, 2009
Total Distance: 100KM and with 48 hours to finish it.
Entrance: Each team must consist of 4 people, and must pass through each checkpoint and finish line together.

Amount of Crazy people in HK during this timeframe: 4000.

Our goal is to complete this 100KM monster in 24 hours!!!

The natural beauty of HK

'It's a bunch of people, buildings and pollution' - that's what most people think of HK when they first hear the name of this country. However, HK is actually only less than 25% developed, which leaves the remaining 75% for parks, mountains and beaches!!!
I never thought to look up this kind of information before this weekend, as I started my search today, it was interesting to find the CIA's world FACTBOOK site, here's the one for HK:
CIA's HK FACTBOOK

The last 3 months had been miserable due to the hot heat and humidity, but the weather seems to get slightly cooler as autumn (starting on August 15th on the Chinese calendar, aka Mooncake festival) approaches!! Which is why I've finally had the chance to discover the beautiful side of HK, although pollution is still an issue, I think I'm starting to like this city more now.
